Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!

Our parish joyfully celebrates Christ’s resurrection between Pascha and the Feast of Ascension. Unfortunately, we also typically see a decline in church attendance. Spring and summer events, vacations, and good weather make it more difficult for some to attend church as often as they’d like. Please remember that our church is still open and operating regardless of the number of people in attendance, and your financial support is needed year-round.

Average monthly expenses are $8,000 to $9000, and often, the income is much less. What expenses does the church incur? Utilities such as electricity and gas. Snow removal in the winter and lawn care in the summer. Routine upkeep and emergency work to ensure the boiler, air conditioning, water heater, and kitchen appliances are in safe working condition. Property insurance. Financial support of our clergy and diocese. Supplies needed for the church’s day-to-day operations. The only way for the church to meet these financial obligations is through the generous giving of our parishioners and friends.

What can you do?

• Consider starting or increasing a monthly donation to the church. If you aren’t in church regularly, you can make donations by mail or on the church website (below).
  
• Pay annual membership dues. See Edward, the Church Warden, for more information.
  
• Pay for a monthly utility bill, a month of lawn care, or needed maintenance. Talk to the Church Warden about current needs.

Whether we attend church weekly or only sporadically, we expect to have our church—our spiritual home—in times of need, on holy days, and for baptisms, marriages, and funerals. We know what it takes to take care for our home and household. Let’s remember to care for our spiritual home in the same way.
