Front Of Church

Our parish was blessed to have a visit from Bishop Spyridon of Chicago and Mid-America on June 28.  We greeted Vladika and other clergy members who served a hierarchical divine liturgy.  Our church was beautifully decorated, and the sisterhood prepared a tasty meal in honor of Vladika’s visit.

On Sunday, July 12 we will celebrate the Feast Day of Saints Peter and Paul.  These two saints were the leaders of the twelve apostles. Both received new names demonstrating a new relationship with God.  Simon, a fisherman, became known as Peter.  He performed many miracles in Christ’s name and travelled to many places preaching Christ’s teachings.  Saul persecuted the Church before he was converted when Christ appeared to him on the road to Damascus.  Saint Paul preached the Gospel in Greece, Rome, and Asia Minor, and he wrote 14 Epistles.  We look forward to celebrating this feast with our church family.

While our church provides us with spiritual nourishment, we also must remember the practical maintenance needed for the upkeep of the church building.  This past winter we learned that the church boiler needs to be replaced. The estimated cost for replacement is $11,000, and we have set this amount as a fund-raising goal.  We can’t have a cold church this winter!  Please help us reach this goal and ensure an efficient boiler that keeps the building comfortable during church services.  Donations can be made by check, credit card, Paypal, or Venmo online or in person at church.  Thank you for your support!

We look forward to seeing you in church for Saturday vigils at 4 pm and Sunday liturgies at 10 am!
